Circleville girl donates beautiful hair to wigs for kids

By Jon Hogue

Isabella (Bella), an 8-year old Circleville native, is getting her hair cut by Mandy Pine at Headlines Hair Salon on Mound Street in Circleville this past Thursday. Last year, Bella saw a commercial for St. Judes for Kids and declared that she wanted to donate her hair to kids with cancer.

Connie Gozdan, Bella’s grandma said, “This is completely her idea. I love her long blonde hair. She has no idea that it tugs a little at my heart for her to get it cut off.” Gozdan teared up as the scissors began to cut her grandaughter’s shimmering long blonde hair.

Isabella said, “My grennie (grandma) had cancer, so I decided to cut my hair for cancer kids.” After the trim, Gozdan will send the hair to “Wigs for Kids”, an organization that’s been providing replacement hair to kids for over 30 years. Gozdan survived breast cancer 23 years ago.
