Looking for a trivia game for your next gathering that includes people who do not like trivia games? Try Wits & Wagers by North Star Games. The winner is NOT the person that knows the most, the winner is the person that can gather the most winnings by betting on the right answer. All the questions have a numeric answer. Everyone secretly writes their answers on dry erase boards and then reveals them. They are placed in numeric order on the game board and then everyone takes their chips and bets on the correct answer. The answer that was the closet without going over wins and those that bet on that one win! When the game is over, the money is totaled and the winner is determined.
Telestrations by USAopoly is a party game for all ages. Everyone is given a book of empty dry erase pages, also a list of words is passed to each person and a die is rolled and you must draw the word chosen. Everyone’s word is different. The books are passed to the next person, who looks at the picture and then writes the word on the next page they think the picture is. Again the book is passed and the next person must draw the word that the previous person guessed. This goes on for a few rounds and then everyone gets to watch as everyone shows their books on what was drawn and what was guessed and the fun and hilarity begins.

Social Deduction games are party favorites. Werewolf, Resistance, Coup, Two Rooms and a Boom, are great examples of these type games. Basically you play in a large group and everyone has different roles, and it is often the case where you must discover the villain in the group. Finding The Werewolf that is knocking off others in the group, or the spy trying to bring down the government, or the bomber trying to blow up the president, can be great fun for all.
If you have passed by the game isle at your favorite store – it’s time to slow down, take a peek and pick up a game for the family.
