Local businesses help raise funds for non-profit through Empty Bowls program

In 2017 Keystone Books and Gifts started a new fundraiser to the area called “Empty Bowls” as a means to help a local ministry with their mobile food service.  The basic premise for the project is people would stop in to the Orange You Glad Workshop, that was located inside of Keystone, to buy 1, but paint 2 bowls.  They would then keep one of the bowls and the other would be used at a  later event at a local restaurant.  For the past 2 years Gibbys Eatery and Sports Bar has helped with the “soup” side of the project.

Patrons would then stop in to Gibbys on a set date, this year it was March 19th, where they could pick out one of the painted bowls and donate $10 to help feed those who needed a little help.  Some would get the soup, some would get the bowl and some would just donate.

When it was all said and done the fundraiser raised $500 for Walk the Talk Ministries which will be used for their Mobile Food Pantry.
