Human trafficking can take many forms – it is not limited to sex trafficking. For the Pickaway Human Trafficking Coalition, they’re working hard to help raise awareness around the problem in Pickaway County, to hopefully advise those living in the community.
Kim Martin, the executive director of the Pickaway Human Trafficking Coalition, stated that being a part of this is another way that she can live out her values – by doing as much as she can in the community.
“One of my core values is that everyone is created equally and deserves to live life to the fullest in freedom and happiness,” she shares, “I attempt to do as much as I can in the community and in my circle to promote equality, fullness of life and a sense of purpose for every individual I come in contact with.”

The Coalition is doing a lot in the community, by offering to attend resource fairs, provide guest speakers and facilitate focus groups with experts in the field across the community.
“An increase in prevention work and protective factors will develop as the community becomes more aware of the problem, the signs, the solutions and how to prevent it,” Kim confirmed.
Their mission and how it benefits is vitally important – the Coalition offers the community guest speakers, resource tables and focus groups at no additional cost. Materials and resources are available through the Coalition as well as linkage to training and resources.
While the Coalition is hard at work to help the community, Kim admits that they are in need of the communities help as well!
“The Coalition is a grass roots effort with no funding. As a newly formed Coalition we are still seeking local support in membership and donations. The Coalition is always in need of donations. We have t-shirts for sale that profit the Coalition as well.”
If you wish to be more involved, you can join them for their bi-monthly meetings – their next meeting will be August 15th from 1-2pm.
