If you’re looking for somewhere to go, for something to do, or for information about a local event in the Pickaway County area – the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau and Welcome Center has the answers you need and can help you get connected in the community that is Pickaway County.
Their mission is to promote travel and tourism in the area, whether it be by promoting the county’s local parks, or getting locals or visitors connected with all the fun, exciting and unique attractions that Pickaway County has to offer.
“I have always had a passion for this community. I love Pickaway County and sharing that love with others makes me happy. Every day I get to spend time looking for events and attractions to promote, or assist in planning events for the community.” Jenny Rhoads of the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau shared.

Jenny and the staff of the Pickaway County Visitors Bureau do everything they can to get the information out and into the community – being a vital part of how the word is spread throughout the area.
“Pickaway County strives to be an information hub for not only visitors but also its residents. The Welcome Center is a vital asset to the area as well, giving travelers a place to stop when they are entering the county.” she explained, before going on to add: “We get many visitors looking for things to do and we have the opportunity to send them to local shops, restaurants, and area attractions.”
While they love to share about events in the area, their biggest concern is knowing about the events that are happening out there. In order to know that, they need locals and individuals to step up and share with them about their upcoming events.
“Our biggest struggle is staying in the loop with all that is happening in the area. If we can find out what is going on, we can promote it. Most people don’t realize that it is free to be listed on our community calendar.” Jenny admitted when asked about their biggest need.
“Share your events with us, volunteer for our events when needed, if you find something awesome to do, eat, or see in Pickaway County, document it and share it with us,” she responded.
On top of handling event submissions and promoting tourism, they also handle booking out and promoting the Pickaway Agricultural Society and the beautiful facilities they have to offer.
“My job is to highlight the great things that are happening in the area, which is a lot of fun. But working at the Visitors Bureau also gives me the opportunity to meet all kinds of people, which I truly enjoy.” Jenny finished in closing.
