Children say the cutest things sometimes and the innocence along with the seriousness on their faces when they say it is what makes it so cute. This was six years ago the day after Thanksgiving, and we were probably going to be putting up the Christmas tree soon. While I was talking to a few of my kids one of my sons made the statement, “I can’t believe how fast Christmas is coming this year”. Wanting to have a little fun with his comment I jokingly responded, “I know it seems like Thanksgiving was just yesterday!” I honestly thought he would catch on a little faster to what I had said but it took a few minutes and while I looked at him, I could see he was contemplating my comment and with a serious face he finally replied, “Yeah!” After a few seconds more he turned towards me again and with a giant smile, he chuckled, “Mom!” It appears that at that point he caught on to the fact that indeed, Thanksgiving was yesterday.
