7 Wonders by Repos Production - Boardgame Review

You are the leader of one of the seven greatest cities of the ancient world. Your job is to gather resources, trade with your neighbors, build your armies and construct a “Wonder” that will ensure that the world will remember your city and empire forever.

7 Wonders has just released a 10th anniversary edition. 7 Wonders, the winner of the game of the year when first released, has seen great popularity in the hobby gaming world for the decade it has been in existence.

The game is played in three rounds. Each round each player from three up to seven, are dealt seven cards from which to build their empire.

Now the frustrating part of the game is that from the seven cards YOU only get to keep ONE of them. And then you pass the six remaining cards to the player to your left in the first and third turn and to the right in the second. What card do you keep? A victory point card? A resource card for future building, an army card to build up your forces? That is the constant dilemma in the game, keep a card good for you, and pass cards that are great for your neighbors or take a not so good card for you that might help your neighbor much more!

Each round the cards change and increase in value, choices made early in the game will influence your choices and costs on future picks. Choose a card for immediate small gain or another for future large gain possibly.

7 Wonders is a wonderful game, no downtime, tough choices, and different every time you play. The short 30-minute playing time will ensure that this game will hit your gaming table multiple times during each session.
