Birthday “Know” Surprise

Sometimes the things kids say, while they are cute as can be, are actually very thought-provoking. If we looked at things through the eyes of a child, life would be so much more interesting.

When my son was eight years old he came to me totally serious and asked me “Mom, How do the stores know when it’s someone’s birthday?” This was an interesting question and, since I wasn’t sure where he was going with this, I asked him what he meant. He said “well Carnival and Walmart always have birthday cards out when it is someone’s birthday, and I wondered how they know.”
