The “Bag” Lady

The Bag Lady

The Bag Lady

I heard many people say when it comes to our kids growing up “you’re going to miss this”. When my youngest was four years old she loved to watch me, when I did what she calls “crafting”. There is something so special about hearing your child say they think your crafts are beautiful.

On this particular night I was cutting out a pattern for a blouse I was planning to wear to the Pumpkin Show. She came up and started asking questions because she usually wants to learn about what I am doing. I had previously traced the pattern onto a paper bag, and I was using that to make the original pattern last longer. She looked at the pattern then looked at me with such a serious expression and said: Mom, please tell me you are not making a shirt out of a paper bag. I thought she sounded so adorable and grown up, for being almost five. It was so hard not to laugh because she was so serious. You can always count on a child to tell you honestly what they think.
