It is sometimes so interesting how you see the characteristics of a personality that have developed over the years just like a story develops. When you look back you can see how certain traits were there from the beginning, the ones that were the foundation of the story.
When Lauren was younger we would tell or read her stories, and we always liked to emphasize the closing with “The End”. Some things stand out in her mind with certain stories because of the way we read them or told them. Maybe a funny voice we created or faces we made.
One year she was making a card for her dad for Father’s Day, and she made the card like a book. Instead of closing her little story book card like you would a greeting card with something like “Love, Lauren” she closed it with just the initials, ‘DN’. When we asked her what it meant, she said, “You know, like at the end of a book…DN”. It was then we realized she interpreted our exaggeration of THE END as ‘DN’.
