Turn your frown upside down!

Jimmy playing game no smile

Jimmy playing game no smile

When Jimmy was little, he never wanted to get his picture taken. We tried all kinds of things to successfully get his picture taken. It was like he had read the “Calvin and Hobbes” comic strips, where Calvin was always making some type of face other than…smiling. It often seemed like whenever we said the word “smile” he heard frown, pout, cry or grumpy because he just never seemed to cooperate at picture time.

Eventually, we learned a little trick! We found that if we gave him a breath mint or a piece of candy, it would usually turn his frown upside down in to a partial smile or at the very least it would distract him enough, so we could snap a few photos. So thankfully we were able to grab some photos of him smiling, but odds are you won’t see his teeth because he has that treat in his mouth.

To this day, he is still a little shy about getting his photo taken. While he may no longer cry, he does love to make silly faces, which is probably his way of dealing with cameras.
