America’s favorite pastime…baseball

Columbus Clippers up to bat

It seems like sporting events or any events where bigger crowds could gather have been a rare thing over the last year and a half. On July 25th we were able to go to a baseball game at the Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio. The Columbus Clippers were playing against the Iowa Cubs. It was great to see families, co-workers and friends out together having a good time. While I am not a huge sports fan, I have to admit this was the most fun I ever remember having at a sports event.

One of the highlights of the event, for me, were when they would pan the cameras around the crowd and catch unsuspecting spectators just sitting there, until they realize the camera is on them, then they totally change their mood. Of course, you always have those who seem to know the camera is on them, before it actually is, because they will “ham it up” for anyone watching. The part of the event that had the biggest impact on me was to hear the National Anthem, see the respect for our country, and to hear the proud cheers afterwards. That was so refreshing because we are still The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. I think everyone was so happy to be out at an event, enjoying one of America’s Favorite Pastimes!
