Strike a Pose!

As a little girl, our middle child, loved to pose for photos. All you had to do was point the camera at Rachel, she would slightly tilt her head, smile and pause for you, almost as if she was posing for the photographer. Since this was before “smart phones” had really hit the market, she always knew when we were getting ready to snap a photo, and she would strike her pose. Sometimes she would even place her hands on her hips or rest her chin on her hands with her elbows on her knees. It always seemed like she was naturally creative and enjoyed “striking a pose!”

She has always had the cutest dimples and a beautiful smile, but since those early years she has had braces, and now, while she has perfectly straight teeth to go along with her beautiful smile, she is no longer the biggest fan of getting her photo taken. As she has grown in to a beautiful young, talented woman, she became more self-conscious of her smile and those photographic poses are a little tougher to come by. On rare occasions when I am able to catch one of those natural, magical, “striking a pose” moments on camera, I so cherish them!
