Are you ready to trust Facebook with everything you look at

You probably know it as the biggest social media giant on the planet, but Facebook plans to get into the hardware game, too. According to Tech Crunch, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced during a recent earnings call that its next big release would be a pair of smart glasses as part of a collaboration with Ray-Ban, the famous Italian eyewear brand that created the iconic Wayfarer sunglasses.

Zuckerberg was cagey about what exactly the glasses would do, according to Mashable, but consumers will find out soon enough. The product is slated to drop sometime in 2021.

So now Facebook can listen and see what you’re seeing.  I know many of the giant tech companies have reported this to be false and that Facebook is not listening, but Facebook already listens in to conversations on our phones, so do you really want them to see everything too? Um yeah, after 2020, I don’t trust ANY of the giant tech companies. I’m sure there are plenty of eager tech geeks out there who are excited to give up more privacy, but for me, I’ll pass.

Beyond the spying that I’m sure Facebook will be doing, didn’t they learn anything from the Google and the launch of their dumb, smart glasses?  Who knows, maybe Facebook will have more success.
