How to host a killer Thanksgiving office party

Thanksgiving is only days away, and many of us in the US are getting ready to celebrate with our friends and family and enjoy a whole myriad of festive foods and drinks.

If you are a business owner or a team leader, and you’ll be in the office until Wednesday – why not surprise your staff with a lovely thanksgiving buffet and party before the big day?

Celebrating days such as Christmas and thanksgiving in the workplace can be a great way to unwind before a holiday, as well as reward your staff for their hard work throughout the year. Today we are going to discuss some of the ways that you can make a fun office thanksgiving celebration for your team.

Prepare the office

The first thing you will need to do is prepare your office for a feast and many visitors. If you are anything like most offices, you won’t have had many people in the office for the last 18 months due to the pandemic. Now that your kitchen and bathrooms will be used to fill capacity once again, it is worth stocking up on supplies from Plumboss to ensure your plumbing can cope for the party. Also, you’ll want to make sure you have plenty of fridge space for your foods, as well as ensure that your boardroom has enough seating for everyone to enjoy a festive feast.

Decorate the space

The fun part of any party preparation is the decoration. Now is the time to start decorating your office for your party. You can find plenty of red, Orange, and yellow decorations in stores, and you can also buy some pumpkins and lay them out for a harvest style display. Have fun with this part of your party prep and make it as festive as you like! The great thing is that once you have finished your work party, you can take your decorations home and use it for your home celebrations!

Buy in some drinks

While it’s not often you’ll have drinks in the office, Thanksgiving and Christmas are special items of the year and a warming mulled wine and some beers won’t hurt! Bring some drinks into the office for your party and make sure you have plenty of different options for people who drink/ don’t drink, etc. You can even make a poll and send it out to your office to find out what drinks they would prefer to have for the party.

Make amazing food

The food will be the star of the show in your thanksgiving office party, and Turkey is the crowning glory (pun intended). The easiest way for you to make a great thanksgiving feast is to cook the Turkey the night before at your house along with some side dishes, and bring it all in on the day and warm it in the oven before you need it. You can stick to the classics, or you can go a little different and offer some fun buffet options as well.

Ask people to bring in dishes

One of the easiest ways to plan a Thanksgiving get together in the office without putting too much pressure on you is to ask people to bring in their own foods. Pot luck dinners are always a winner, and a pot luck thanksgiving party is a great way to discover new foods!
