I love working with pine cones. On my daily 8.5 mile walk I see a variety of different types of cones. Some are long and tapered, while others are more rounded. In December, I often carry a plastic bag with me and collect the pine cones off the ground.
One of the easiest crafts is to tie the cones to a piece of twine and add a ribbon behind each cone to make a garland. The cones can be left as is, or decorated with paint and glitter. I like to spray the artificial snow on the edges of the cone. The garland can be used above doorways or strung around your Christmas tree.

In the past, I’ve purchased an inexpensive wire or straw wreath and glued various types and sizes of cones to the wreath. The cones can be left plain or decorated. After the cones are glued and dried, I like to hang a nice bow from the type of the wreath. They make a perfect all natural and lovely Christmas wreath for the door or wall!
Recently I saw very cute pine cone angels. Little wooden doll heads had eyes drawn on them and glued to the top of a rounded pine cone. A pleasant bow was glued behind to look like angel wings, and moss was glued to the wooden doll heads to resemble hair. Some cones were decorated and others were left plain. Little twine loops were glued to the back of the pine cone angel, so they could be hung on the Christmas tree.
