LLAMA card game review

LLAMA, is a quick card game with the object is to not get stuck with cards that cannot be played. When you do get stuck, you gain chip (points) for the card left over in your hand. Once someone hits forty points, the game is over and the person with the least amount of points wins.

The card play is simple, there are 8 cards each numbered 1 to 6 and 8 LLAMA cards. Shuffle the deck, deal six cards to each player up to 6 – turn over the next card and you are off!!! Play is simple as 1 – 2 – 3 … IT is that, simple. When there is a number on the pile you play the same number or one higher … if a 2 is showing – play a two or a three … when a 3 is showing play a three or four … Now when a Six is showing you can play a 6 or a LLAMA, and when the LLAMA is showing you can play another LLAMA or a 1 and start the pile all over again.

The options you have are that on your turn you may drop out and quit the hand and score points of one of each of the cards in your hand. So if you have one six you get six points, if you have 6 sixes you would still only score 6 points. LLAMAs in this case count 10 points and are not good. You also have the choice to draw a card to continue if you do not have a card to play. You do NOT get to play the card if you got a lucky draw and got a playable card.

If you are good enough or lucky to go out and play your last card, you get to put BACK a chip, so your score can go DOWN as the game goes on. Always great to go out and put back that ten point chip you got for that LLAMA last turn.

LLAMA is a fun, simple card game with a lot of strategy not seen at first glance.
