Bring the outdoors in

Bring the outdoors in

At this time of year when the weather is not always so good, it’s all too easy to spend all of your time indoors and miss out on the relaxing beauty of nature, but it doesn’t have to be that way!

There are lots of things you can do to bring the outdoors in, so even when it’s too horrible to go outside, you can enjoy the beauty of nature.

Install patio doors

If you have a nice outdoor space, then a really good way to bring the outdoors in is to simply book a patio door installation. Patio doors tend to be mostly glass, so you get a great view of the garden even when the door is closed, and you can watch the birds and squirrels running around or the leaves falling from the trees in the comfort of your warm, dry, home.

Play with plants

Bringing plants into the home is a great way to have your own piece of nature right indoors, and numerous studies have shown that being surrounded by plants can have a calming effect on you, so it will make for a more relaxing home too, Oh, and they’re great at cleaning the air you breathe in and dealing with mold and mildew too. Is there anything houseplants can’t do?

Add a balcony

If you do not already have a balcony, adding one to the master bedroom is a great way to start your day with the beauty of nature. Simply fling open the patio door and take your morning tea on the balcony for the best possible start to every morning.

Grow a green ceiling

We’ve already mentioned houseplants, but having a few potted pants is not the only way to bring some greenery into your home, creating a green wall or ceiling, made up of easy-to-care-for succulent plants, is a unique way to decorate your home which will help it to feel more like an inviting garden space, even when it’s too cold or wet to actually go outside and hang in the yard, and it’s much easier to install one than you might think, so what are you waiting for?

Strategically hang mirrors

If you have a lush and green garden outside of your home, then hanging mirrors strategically opposite windows so that they reflect your rose bushes and sycamore trees and perfectly manicured lawns back into each room in your home is a really quick and affordable way of making your home feel more nature-based.

Add more windows

The more windows you have in your home, and that includes skylights and ceiling windows, the more of nature you will be able to see when you are stuck inside, and the lighter, brighter and more open your home will feel.

Cut flowers

If you can afford them, regularly placing vases full of pretty cut flowers around the house will help to bring the outdoors in, make your home smell amazing and add a touch of class to the space.
