For every backdrop
there’s a noise,
setting the scene.
Like the coo of a bird,
or the crow of a rooster,
waking us up
just in time
to look out the window,
to see a cute little red bird
sitting on the fence.
Hearing an owl hoot
or a woodpecker pound away,
keeping us from sleep today
or the gentle sounds of nature,
like the waves of an ocean,
that makes us feel so alive.
From the first thing in the morning
to the last sound at night,
we constantly get clues
letting us listen
until our hearts are content.
