Part of our goal with Dimple Times is to be a light, and to cast a light onto some of the different talents, businesses and organizations that make up Pickaway County. With this new segment, we are reaching out to local nonprofit organizations and learning more about what they do for those who are in our community.
I recently had the privilege of speaking with Kathy Winter, the Circleville Center Director for Elizabeth’s Hope Pregnancy Resources. Elizabeth’s Hope specializes in helping pregnant women who find themselves in a difficult situation by giving them alternatives to enable them to make informed decisions about the pregnancy. They also offer support and encouragement during the pregnancy and until her child reaches two years of age.
In asking Kathy some of the questions in relation to Elizabeth’s Hope, and the help that they provide, I gained a better understanding of the many things that they provide for women in our community, and other areas much like Circleville.

Some of the things Elizabeth’s Hope is trying to accomplish in 2018 is to gain medically trained volunteers and staff to help support their new mobile medical ultrasound van coming in May, they want to reach more families with their services in the 5 counties they serve, Pickaway, Ross, Pike, Jackson and Highland. (especially families with medical needs of pregnancy tests with counsel, ultrasounds, and STD testing)
When asking Kathy what they would like people to know about Elizabeth’s Hope, she wanted people to know that all of their services are free and confidential with education and mentoring on healthy relationships, pregnancy, baby and toddler care and parenting.
Most of their funding comes from individual donors and churches. Their most urgent needs are: monthly financial support to help pay for operating the centers, new mobile medical van, and medical staff. They also need help with advertising and word of mouth, to let people know about their services in their 5 counties, so that they can serve more families
