For lunch this time, we decided we would visit Watt Street Tavern and order off of their lunch menu. The lunch menu at Watt Street is condensed to give visitors a quick lunch option but you are more than welcome to look over their dinner menu which has more to choose from.

Off of their lunch menu, we ordered one of their Hot Stacks, which is a sandwich made turkey and Swiss cheese, grilled and topped with lettuce, tomato, and mayo.

We also ordered one of their chicken sandwiches, which is your choice of grilled, blackened or fried chicken breast that is marinated, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and a side of creole mustard.

Both sandwiches came with a side of fries which were crunchy, thick, contained a great flavor that made them absolutely perfect without ketchup.

While we ordered things that we normally would like, I talked with the kitchen manager at Watt Street Tavern Johny about what their most popular menu items might be.

We have a few things that I guess you say would be [considered popular], Johny admits, but ultimately decides: We have our crab corn chowder, which a lot of people like a lot. The Jambalaya is really popular as well.

Out of my own curiosity, I inquired about their tacos, as I love tacos and had recently seen someone bragging up their Taco Tuesdays.

Oh yeah! We have Taco Tuesday. It’s always different every week, we try to do at least two of the tacos with some kind of specialty thing. You know, like a street taco not your traditional taco.

Taco Tuesday is something they’re still trying to build up, so be sure to can join them every Tuesday from 5pm through to closing time for some great tacos!

Outside of the weekdays, you can also join them on weekends for different specials going on.

We offer specials every weekend, they’re always different. I try to do a pasta. We’re pushing more into we’ve got a smoker now, so we’ll be doing a lot more with smoking meats and making specials for those.

Watt Street Tavern has a variety of events that happen each month and some specials that happen each week. You can find out more on their website, Facebook or by stopping in and paying a visit.
