COLUMBUS — State Rep. Gary Scherer (R-Circleville) has announced that he will be hosting a public meeting, in collaboration with Connected Nation Ohio, to discuss updated broadband coverage maps for Ohio and to hear from constituents about current issues with broadband access.

As a leader in rural internet accessibility advocacy, Connected Nation has been instrumental in promoting broadband expansion and technology growth in Ohio. Staying true to their mission, Connected Nation has been working with broadband service providers to accurately map broadband service areas, identify and analyze where broadband coverage is lacking, and create innovative solutions to improve connectivity statewide.

Preliminary broadband maps and statistics were published in November 2019 and are scheduled to be updated this coming March. In order to accurately update these maps to reflect real broadband coverage in the district, Connected Nation is seeking the public’s feedback about their access and use of broadband (high-speed internet).

“I look forward to the opportunity to hear from the individuals of the 92nd House District about broadband coverage in their area. I encourage everyone to fill out this survey and to continue to keep in touch with my office. By holding this public meeting, I am confident that the public will not only learn more about broadband coverage initiatives, but will be able to further inform Connected Nation’s map-drawing efforts to improve broadband access,” Representative Scherer said.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to provide feedback, please follow this link to complete Connected Nation’s broadband survey: https://connectednation.org/ohio/feedback
Additionally, residents of the 92nd District are welcome to contact Representative Scherer’s office at (614) 644-7928 or [email protected].

The meeting will be held Tuesday, February 15 at the Pickaway County Main Library (116 North Court St. Circleville, OH 43113) at 5:00 p.m.
