March 6th – March 8th, the Wizard World Cleveland Comic Convention took place at the Huntington Convention Center in Cleveland, Ohio. People from all across the state of Ohio and from other states came to the Cleveland area to visit with celebrity guests, dress up in incredible cosplays, visit with vendors and have a break away from reality.
The weekend was filled with panels from celebrity guests, fan groups and cosplayers covering topics from anything such as upcoming television/movie premieres, to fan discussions, how-to cosplay tips and so much more.
Our group, Agents Of Ohio, was present all weekend with a booth that allowed group members, Agents of SHIELD, and Marvel fans both to connect with one another. Our booth was decorated with SHIELD props and information about our group. Pins and poker chips with our group’s design were sold all weekend and the proceeds from our sales would be donated to the local non-profit A New Leaf, Inc.

Over the weekend we hosted a couple of events that engaged convention-goers and our fellow group members. We hosted a panel on Friday night celebrating seven incredible years of the show and even gave away prizes that were donated to us by fellow fandom vendors such as Level Seven Access and Flaunt Your Fandom. On Saturday we offered the opportunity to allow fans to gather for a group photo.
The best thing about attending conventions is getting the opportunity to see so much creativity and talent underneath one roof. When I asked different first-time convention goers what their favorite thing about the convention had been, the answer was pretty much always about the unique costumes and cosplayers that roamed the halls.
Wizard World Cleveland will take place February 26th – 28th next year, and our little Circleville, Ohio fan group hopes to make a return to help raise awareness about a local non-profit, as well as funds and to offer more incredible activities for both our members and fellow fans.
