Back in 2011 I was working at the Pumpkin Show all day from 9:30-4:00 on the Friday and Saturday of that week at our store. The grandma’s came over and stayed with the kids so that I could help out with our store and our tent.
After I was home for a while and after dinner was done, I walked in the foyer and noticed that the sunset had cast an orange glow over the sky, but only over the part that was in the direction of the Pumpkin Show. I said to the kids, �Look guys, you can tell the Pumpkin Show is going on because the sky is orange over top of the Pumpkin Show.� The kids, including my 14-year-old, stood in amazement and thought it was so cool!
I wondered if they thought Circleville had the power to light the sky up orange just for the Pumpkin Show? I would expect my youngest three to think that or to believe it, but it took me by surprise when Jimmy, the 14-year-old, thought it and replied, “AHHH Cool!” He may have just thought the timing and placing of the orange in the sky was cool- and it was, but all the kids have grown up seeing the magic of the Pumpkin Show! It was just exciting for me to hear and see the excitement in his and his siblings faces over the beautiful orange, Pumpkin Show sunset!
