Not too long ago we were having chicken noodle soup, what I always thought of as comfort food, for dinner. I like to keep bigger chunks of chicken in with the noodles, and we like the wider noodles too. Normally I wouldn’t go into detail about how we like our soup, but this kind of lays the foundation or at least provides a little explanation for this story.
Some of us like to put the chicken noodle soup on top of our mashed potatoes, and some like their potatoes on the side. Caleb was dishing out the soup, and he said: “I’m not getting any broth, the noodles must have absorbed it all.” I had already placed a serving spoon in the soup and one in the potatoes. Since it was already in the soup pan, Caleb didn’t realize the spoon had holes in it. So the broth was just draining out through the holes. It gives a whole new perspective on a wholesome meal and I guess, in this case, there was a pun intended.
