There was a Christmas cartoon special on years ago with cartoon characters named Hoops and Yo Yo.
When my two youngest were getting ready for bed, Kaitlyn (about seven at the time) was brushing her teeth. She said “Mom, you know Poops and Yo Yo?” I had to bite my lip, so I wouldn’t bust out laughing. She was totally serious, and she thought they were saying Poops instead of Hoops.
It is so easy to confuse or hear something totally different from what someone is saying. I have done it many times. The perfect example is I found out, after singing a song a certain way for many years, that I was singing the wrong lyrics because the words really sounded like what I was singing.
