The wheel of life turns so fast,
pressing us to complete goals
before our footsteps walk no more.
Pacing frantically towards the finish line,
we try to erase mistakes
paving a clearer path.
Knowing all that truly matters is the dash,
those moments between our birth and death,
keeping it in the forefront of our minds
hoping to leave a good legacy behind.
Steering clear of anger,
attempting to push it to the side,
hoping to show forgiveness like Jesus,
but falling short.
Trying to make the best of each moment,
grabbing someone’s hand along the way,
enjoying each second life has to offer
before the sand counts down.
