OHIO (DimpleTimes) I went back and forth on this one! We asked a few weeks ago, and they didn’t have it locally yet. In my mind we weren’t for sure whether to celebrate or remain curious. I mean, I love donuts and the chicken strips from KFC are awesome, but how would they be together? Well, curiosity won today as we were out delivering copies of the Dimple Times today in Washington Court House, and we decided to stop and ask again. Guess what? They had it.
The photos you’ve seen are pretty close to what you get. Two donuts with chicken in the middle. Where it probably changes the most is the amount of chicken you get and instead of the donuts being glazed, they did not put glaze on the top donut, and they just poured it over the chicken and the bottom donut. Without a doubt this made the sandwich more of a knife and spork meal because it was a mess.
How did it taste? Well, that is a trick question. While it wasn’t totally disgusting I highly doubt I would ever try it again. At best, I would say it was “ok” to “Nope, never again”.
While we don’t normally give opinions on how to make things better I would suggest they drop the glaze altogether and just pour their gravy over the combo. I know, I know. It’s still not a very healthy meal, but it may at least taste better.
