CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio (Dimple Times) – On this sunny day, Allanah Brady and her nine-year-old son, Kyler, gathered at the PICCA loading docks to deliver food that had been donated with the intention of giving back to those in need.

Kyler has been accepting non-perishable foods for his birthday in place of presents for the last few years. At such a young age, Kyler has already made a big difference in his community and admitted that he wouldn’t have it any other way. “[It’s exciting] that I got this much food, instead of presents,” Kyler explained, as he sat among the piles of food on the PICCA loading dock.  “I don’t need toys, this is more than what I need.”

Kyler’s birthday food drive gathered about six shopping carts full of non-perishable foods for those in need, the largest amount he has ever received for one of his food drives. “I’m happy that I got this much,” he admitted. “It’s more than last year.”

Kyler’s mother, Allanah, agreed that there was definitely an increase in donations from the previous years. “Ninety-eight percent of this came from his birthday party, so from friends and family.” She shared.

Allanah and Kyler are grateful to everyone who participated in this year’s birthday food drive and really wanted people to know that they were grateful for their help this year. “Our family and friends really showed up,” Allanah laughed, before adding: “They brought a lot of stuff.” Along with being grateful for their friends and family, they are grateful to Brad Jacob for offering his office as a drop-off and to those who swung by to drop off at his location.

The food gathered from Kyler’s will go to help those in the community, and Kyler’s plan is to continue doing this for future birthday’s, and he hopes that it will get into more areas.
