PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio (Dimple Times) – Riddled throughout the state of Ohio is somewhere over 300 alpaca farms – and you don’t have to travel far to visit one of them. Just in Williamsport, Ohio is A&R Alpaca Farm, where guests who have set up an appointment can swing by and visit with the 88 Huacaya alpacas that live on the farm.
The perfect weekend or afternoon outing, A&R Alpaca Farms gives visitors the chance to feed the socializing with the alpacas by giving them treats or pats, and even a chance to learn a little about the different alpacas, their personalities, their backgrounds, and more. Most of all, a trip out to the farm is perfect for families with little ones.
“Our [alpacas] are pretty well socialized,” Robin Ridenour, one of the owners of A&R Alpaca Farms shared.

The alpaca farm gives guests the opportunity to see firsthand what it’s like to own alpacas, as well as answering questions visitors might have. Guests are even given the opportunity to visit the gift shop, where they can see what products are available for purchase with the fleece provided by the alpacas.
“It’s really nice and we try to make sure like our yarn, it’ll have the alpacas name on it that it came from, so you can relate it to [the alpaca],” Robin explained.
A&R Alpaca Farms is open now by appointment, which can be made by calling 614-361-8789 but Robin extends an invite to those who might be interested in stopping out for Alpaca Farm Days, which runs September 26th – 27th this year.
