From a young age, we’re taught that gaming is not a good idea. We’re limited in our screen time by our parents and told to get our heads out of our fantasy worlds and into our books. Parents and grown-ups think you’re melting your brain when you spend hours creating new worlds, learning COE, creating characters and running a storyline – oh, if only they knew, right? Well, the thing is, parents DO know exactly how valuable gaming can be, which is why they don’t want their kids spending hours and hours on it. You can lose days at a time to a good game in which you become invested, and teenagers need sleep, homework, food – all of those necessities that kids need. However, when you’re an adult, the rules change – and so has gaming.

The technology surrounding the digital gaming world has blown up in recent years, with games evolving to look more real – like movies you can play instead of just games. Jobs have been created as a result of the gaming industry exploding, and people are even able to game for a living now. From the RPG games you can buy and play online to the online games you can add a little money to on www.thetrentonline.com, gaming is changing every year, so why not be a part of that change? So, when someone points out to you that you spend all your time gaming, you can agree and tell them that you’re gaming for a reason – and we’ve got ten reasons why you should be doing it!

It’s Not a Good Long-Term Plan – Dave Says

Love Them Enough to Teach Them Well

  1. Better Coordination

There are plenty of studies to prove that those who play games regularly over the computer or on a console are blessed with much better hand-eye coordination than those who don’t. In the same way typists can write what they want to write without looking at their hands, gamers naturally know which buttons to press and when. All of this hand action improves your coordination, and fast games such as car drifting games or sports games improve it even further. There are games out there that demand that you are fast, so you need to be able to keep up!

2. Faster Decision-Making Processes

In the middle of a new game, you will learn how to make quick decisions. Some games out there are designed around your decision-making prowess, and if you can make the right decisions, you’re going to be a winner. However, the path isn’t linear; the more choices you make, the more the game changes. So many games are based around this and you can learn to make better, more logical and more calculated decisions this way.

3. You Will Build Your Confidence

Did you know that it’s common for gamers to have high self-esteem? The way you win games, beat the baddies and go to different places in the world all without leaving your seat can help you to build your confidence and self-esteem. You’ll know that with determination, you can do absolutely anything that you want to do – the gaming experience will prove that to you!

4. Your Math Skills Will Shoot Through The Roof

If you’re playing gambling games, you’ll be better at statistics and analyzing your chances of winning, thinking about probabilities and calculating what you could win and in which games. Gamers are better at math in general, as you learn to be quick about your timings when you play. You’ll be better equipped to analyze your moves and your jumps, too.

5. You’ll Learn A Lot!

Gaming isn’t just about the fantasy of the storyline. You can learn a lot through the type of game you’re playing. Real life happenings are often weaved into the gaming world, from the Renaissance to the Vietnamese War. You can learn a lot about the history of our actual world when you game, and all you have to do is dig a little deeper with the games you are playing.

6. Improved Reflexes

Online games often help gamers to improve their dexterity and reflexes. From learning how to catch things quickly, to be able to respond quickly when it counts the most in games. Taking the time to check whether your reflexes are working is easy, and when you play, you will see how quickly you react to each situation.

7. Team Spirit Is HIGH!

When you are online playing, you’re not always playing alone. You learn to work in a team, even when you don’t know the other gamer personally. You can adjust to each team easily, and even when you don’t know people all that well, you do learn to communicate and get the game done together. It’s often hard to work in a team, but gamers know that it’s a must if they want to win. You’re more accepting of others as a result, and this translates into your real life, too.

8. You’re More Passionate

When you get invested in a new game, this passion reflects in areas of your life that you didn’t previously expect. You learn to get stuck into new and old tasks and get your chores done, your work done and get back to your games. It’s a good way to learn how to be more productive, too, as if you can learn to be productive in a fantasy world, you can learn to be productive in your actual life, too.

9. Gamers Are Far More Creative

A lot of gamers out there are inspired to create their own games when they are exposed to certain genres. You start to imagine a game you’d like to see on the shelves, which then becomes your benchmark for a game you would love to play yourself.

10. You Pay More Attention

When you are spending time solving puzzles and analyzing strategies, you pay more attention to your surroundings. You are better at solving problems and you pay more attention to how you can unravel issues in day to day life!

Gaming is a good thing to do in your downtime. As long as it’s not taking over your job and your family, you’re going to be fine!
