Wendy’s describes their Bourbon Bacon Cheeseburger as “A quarter-pound* of fresh, never-frozen beef topped with Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, crispy onions, and a sweet, smoky bourbon bacon sauce that is, essentially, a sauce made with real bourbon and real bacon. Read that part about the sauce again, and we’ll see you soon. *Approximate weight before cooking.”
Our Thoughts
Pros: Without a doubt the best part of this sandwich was the taste. While it could have used more “bourbon sauce”, there is no doubt that the sauce is what highlights this burger. Bacon on just about any burger adds a “plus” and the same is true on this one.
Cons: While it is common for the demo burger you see in a photograph to look nothing like the real thing, sadly this one is pretty bad. To the point that if they had had the amount of sauce, bacon and onion as they showed in their photograph, this burger could have really tasted different.
